Last Supper... for a while

What a somber night, Thursday night, as Passover begins for Jesus at sundown! The darkest day in all history begins as night falls. A final meal before death, before denial, before betrayal. The next meal of this sort with his disciples will be in the kingdom of God, when he returns.

• Peter is confused. He is willing to fight for Jesus, but isn't prepared for Jesus' willing surrender.
• Is Judas trying to manipulate God into establishing the kingdom? Surely God won't allow his king to be killed! Surely he will send ten thousand angels to rescue him and will install Jesus as king.
• Jesus is resolved. He would rather this cup pass from him, but he is submitted to God. He does not run away. He waits, and Judas arrives.
