Here is Pete Enns' sense of the Newsweek article to which I responded on Monday. His take-away is that, amid all the inflammatory rhetoric and mistaken details, there is some truth in the article.
I think Bible professionals need to be careful to not map their nuanced understanding of the Bible on others. While Peter Enns points out that politicians are a legitimate target for some of this article's accusations, I know MANY conservative Christians who are clueless on all these issues yet continue to use the Bible to determine their politics and life decisions.
