Missing the Mayan end of the world

I know what it means if you miss the rapture, but what does it mean if you miss the Mayan end of the world?

We'll be fine as long as we don't miss out on a new heaven and a new earth.

I'm no Mayanist, but according to Wikipedia the Mayans did not predict the end of the world. It seems that the media have misled us.

Now there's a surprise :-)

It only means you're not Mayan.

From what I understand, the Mayan calendar just ends. We do not know what they intended to do after that or if they continued another cycle on another engraved rock.

Thanks to the Spaniards who destroyed much of the Mayan written works, we will never know and that act opened the door to every modern wingnut who has a warped interpretation and looking to instill panic into the world

I was listening to a Mayan expert on NPR yesterday and he said that today was simply the end of an age in their calendar but that no Mayan text ever mentions the end of the world. The assumption would simply be that tomorrow begins the next major era of history.

Apparently, though, they finished the previous age of history a few centuries early.

Greetings Dr. Ken Schenck,
I am starting a blog where I collect information about God from experts.
My question is:
Are all sins equal before God?
May I post your answer on my blog?
If not, I'd still be interested in hearing your answer.

Thank you for reading,
