The Next President of the USA

I probably won't vote for him, but since I like to think I have insight, I'm predicting that the next president of the USA is going to be Rick Perry, governor of Texas.  This puts many of you into a conundrum.  You would like me to be labeled a false prophet, but Obama would have to be re-elected for that to happen in this case. ;-)

I think Rick Perry's frequent comments about secession will come back and bite him in the butt. Why would the US want a president who threatened to lead the charge of making Texas a sovereign nation? Granted, Perry only made those comments to further his political career in Texas (if you just mention seceding, you get elected I'm confident), but it's still not going to play well for independent voters.

Plus, I don't think many people have fully recovered from the last Texas Governor-turned-President.

I'm pretty sure Obama will be re-elected. ("And how do you feel about that, Ken?") In any event, if Perry is the nominee, I have absolutely no doubt that Obama will be re-elected.

How does any incumbent get re-elected in a term like Obama's had, regardless of who's to blame? Maybe I just don't know enough about Perry but I had been thinking that Obama's only hope was the poor playing field the Republicans had thus far.

Perhaps I will quickly be proved to have no insight at all ;-)

Why will Obama most likely be re-elected? Because the American people realize that he is not responsible for this mess (even though, IMHO, he could have done a great deal more, at least in terms of the bully pulpit, to get us out of it). The Republicans are.

"Nutcase"?? What planet are YOU living on, Anonymous? Obama can be faulted for many things, but being mentally ill is NOT one of them.

Juan Williams is of the opinion that none of the current Republican candidates will resonate with younger voters. Right or not, he makes sense on some of his views.
Nothing will surprise me, I honestly thought that Hillary would be the current president. As they say, "It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings."
