Hays and Wright

Unfortunately I missed the Wheaton conference on N. T. Wright last week. There are some good reviews out there, particularly by Nijay Gupta and Michael Gorman. The key exchange was between Richard Hays and Tom Wright. Wright considers Hays too Barthian. Hays considers Wright too oriented around the historical.

Here is Gorman's summary.

Here is Gupta's summary.

Thanks for this - the MP3's are available here.

Richard should know that, as soon as you go soft on history, Wright is gonna blast you. He has no time for an ahistorical "Christ of Faith" for apologetic and missional reasons.

Interesting piece in CT today contrasting the Wright convention with a Reformed convention in Louisville just before: Wright and the Neo-Reformed.

I feel even sorrier to have missed since this conference in Wheaton seems a pivotal moment of sorts.
