At last it is in my price range!

I am sure it is a fascinating book that you probably can not put down, but it is still too expensive. Do you have a complementary copy that would enlighten a lesser scholar?

I have four complimentary copies. I hear it is a great cure for insomnia and can be paid for through Medicaid.

Would you be willing to send one my way? I do get insomnia on a regular basis. :-)

So when will there be an M.Div. Hebrews elective?

If they come, we will build it. :-)

I won't rush out and buy it, but I will put it on my amazon wish list :). Eventually it will work it's way into my library. Thanks for letting us know!

I wouldn't worry about it Jess. It's one of those scholarly monographs that hopefully has some impact on the discussion but not the most helpful for ministry.

Congrats, Ken.

And are you presuming that pastors need not engage the scholarship for their task? Of course not.

The price range may be over most pastor's heads but the subject matter is right at our level. And all your other stuff has been so helpful to me. I won't miss reading all that you publish.

I look forward to reading it--and I'll wish list it like Jess. I do hope Jackson Library ends up with a copy so I can check it out first. :-)

This is an interesting discussion to have David and one that David Riggs and I have at least initially disagreed somewhat on.

In a scholarly context, I might ask questions like which Septuagintal text is Hebrews 1:6 quoting? Is 1:5-2:18 a narratio? Does Harold Attridge think Hebrews 8:5 has Platonic overtones? I consider these all valid questions, just not particularly urgent or beneficial to preaching or teaching in Sunday School. :-)
